Salix integra ‘Hakuro Nishiki‘ - Dappled Willow 'Hakuro Nishiki'

General:
The willow species Salix integra is common in Japan and Korea. It grows here as a small shrub by watercourses and on damp meadows.

Care as a bonsai:
Willows are undemanding plants for bonsai design. They are very easy on cutting and undemanding to the local conditions. Basically, however, a bright location, a good supply of water and nutrients as well as normal winter protection are optimal for the development of the plant.

Special features of the variety:
The ‘Hakuro Nishiki‘ variety has variegated white leaves and the new shoots are pink. The close-up, colorful leaves alone make this type of willow look almost like an ornamental shrub in bloom.
