Made of brown plastic, fertilizer baskets are filled with organic fertilizer (e.g. Biogold Original) so that they are protected from birds and cannot be washed off the surface by watering. The distance from the surface avoids possible moss burns. For a particularly firm hold on the surface of the soil, these baskets have a 2.5 cm long skewer.
