Sphagnum moss or also called peat moss, has an enormous water storage capacity. At the same time, however, it retains a very stable and thus well aerated structure. These are particularly favorable conditions for intensive root growth. This makes sphagnum moss ideal for mossing off bonsai or for targeted root regeneration at the root base or root ball. It can also be used as evaporation protection for freshly repotted bonsai or bare-root plants (yamadori). The offered moss is a premium quality from New Zealand, obtained from natural bogs with sustainability in mind. The 150g package contains compressed moss that loosely laid out gives a volume of about 10 liters. 150g of moss can absorb about 2 liters of water.
