Biogold Original is a purely organic fertilizer from Japan, which has proven itself for many years for the fertilization of bonsai. The nitrogen-reduced nutrient composition leads to healthy and balanced plant growth. The fertilizer chunks are placed directly on the surface of the soil or special fertilizer baskets are used so that the chunks are not washed away by watering or rain. The fertilizer chunks are also popular with birds. Depending on the amount of fertilizer required, 20-30 lumps can be placed on the surface of a 30 cm long bonsai pot. After five to six weeks, the remains are then removed and replaced with new chunks.
Compared to mineral fertilizers, the risk of over-fertilization with Biogold Original is very low, as the nutrients are released slowly through mineralization by soil organisms. However, Biogold Original also has a direct fertilizing effect due to pre-fermentation and should therefore not be applied excessively.
Biogold Original can also be applied in liquid form. For this purpose, 2-3 chunks are dissolved in one liter of water and stored warm. It is best to use biologically active rainwater. After a week, sufficient nutrients will have been released and the solution can be poured over the soil every two weeks.
