Ryuga Root Claw - 1 prong, stainless steel

Root claws are usually essential for repotting a bonsai. Especially with older and strongly rooted plants, the dense root ball must be loosened and cut back regularly.  This work is best done with a root claw. Depending on the type of tree and the state of development of the root ball, you can choose between light and heavy and correspondingly stable claws. In addition, the claws differ in the number of tines. For targeted loosening work, where you do not want to damage adjacent roots, a claw with one tine is recommended. Here, the substrate between the roots can be gently worked out and roots disentangled. For coarse work, where each individual root is less important, or for very fibrous root balls, the multi-pronged versions are particularly suitable. These usually have a thick wooden handle and lie accordingly well in the hand to work long and powerfully.
