Ilex crenata ‘Dwarf Pagoda‘ - Japanese Holly 'Dwarf Pagoda’

General:
The japanese holly originally comes from Japan and grows there in the lowlands and in the mountains as an evergreen, upright shrub with a height of approx. 3 meters. The plants are sexually separated, with the female forming black, round, long-lasting fruits.

Care as a bonsai:
The cultivated forms of the japanese holly are particularly popular with garden bonsai. Their small leaves and the ability to cut are ideal for this. One can raise particularly dense and finely branched branches. This can of course also be used with a bonsai. The holly then prefers a partially shaded location with high humidity. They should be protected in winter.

Special features of the variety japanese holly 'Dwarf Pagoda’:
The 'Dwarf Pagoda' variety is very suitable as a bonsai because its growth is very slow and stocky. In addition, the leaves are even more delicate than the species and very interestingly arranged in a pagoda-like manner.
