Ralf Hauke potted unique and high-quality bonsai pots for many years. As a bonsai lover, he liked natural-looking bonsai pots with interesting glazes, but such pots were hard to find in the industrially produced range of pots. So he started making pots himself and experimented with different shapes and glazes. He developed his own style and was in no way inferior to well-known potters with his creations. Ralf Hauke was guided by four criteria when designing his bonsai pots: Simplicity, modesty, serenity and naturalness. The pots were produced in white, red and black clay using an elaborate slab construction method and then fired at 1150-1250 degrees, making them frost-resistant. Ralf Hauke passed away in February 2024.
