Carmona microphylla - Fukien Tea

General:
The evergreen Fukien tea is native to China, Japan, Australia and Indonesia. It grows there as a heavily branched shrub or small tree with a height of up to 3 meters.

Care as a bonsai:
The Fukien tea is a popular bonsai because its small leaves and good branching make it ideal for bonsai cultivation. In addition, it is quite robust and develops very decorative, small white flowers and sometimes red-orange fruits all year round. Like almost all indoor bonsai, the Fukien tea can be left outside from May to October. In winter, it is best to put it in a heated room above 15 degrees. Particularly in the dark winter months, care should be taken to ensure that there is sufficient light and high humidity.
