Ficus benjamina - Benjamin Fig

General:
The Benjamin Fig is native to India, Bangladesh, Burma, southern China and from Malaysia to Australia. Many cultivated forms have also emerged from the species, and today it is found all over the world as a houseplant. The Benjamin Fig is evergreen and grows naturally as a shrub or small tree.

Care as a bonsai:
Due to the narrow, glossy leaves and the lack of care in maintenance, the Benjamin Fig is not only a common houseplant, but also a popular bonsai. Maintenance is basically limited to regular pruning and extensive watering and fertilization during the growing season. The plant can stay indoors all year round. In winter, however, particular attention should be paid to a bright location.
