General:
Hostas originally come from Japan, Korea, China and Russia. The perennials have many dense, basal leaves and isolated racemose inflorescences. In addition, the plants reproduce superficially through rhizomes. The leaves die off after the growing season, only to be rubbed out again the following year. Today, several thousand species have emerged from the wild species that find their place in ornamental gardens.

The Funkia ‘Cherry Berry‘ is a medium-sized, particularly attractive ornamental leaf. The green edge of the leaf meets a white center and very interesting patterns are formed. The decorative flowers in July and August also make the plant very suitable as a side plant at a bonsai exhibition and as a decorative accent plant within the private bonsai collection.
