Asplenium trichomanes

Asplenium trichomanes - Maidenhair Spleenwort

General:
The Maidenhair Spleenwort is a small and graceful plant that occurs in Europe, North America, South Africa, Australia and the Himalayas. The plant is very undemanding and persistent and is often found on extreme locations such as walls or in crevices. The pinnate fronds consist of a brown stem and many rounded leaves. The fronds are also evergreen.

Use:
The delicate Maidenhair Spleenwort can be planted very well in a ceramic bowl, on a stone slab or on a piece of wood. But it also looks very good in an arrangement with other plants. Due to the contrast between the dark petioles and the green leaves, the plant is very decorative and enriches any plant collection. The Maidenhair Spleenwort grows best in barren and moist substrates as well as in partial shade and shade. Otherwise the plant is undemanding, robust and hardy.
